UNESCO brief

I've been exploring the idea of using something less obvious to represent 'the rapprochement of cultures'.. I am interested in looking at tea as a link across cultures. There are so many varieties of tea across countries and the range is really broad. I also think that because tea is a popular and well known 'British' tradition it could incorporated with tea from other cultures to represent the multi cultural society of Britain. The tea bags themselves also give an aesthetic opportunity. The below images were taken in Cape Town and show recycled tea bags made into cards.

Music as a universal Language....

Instruments made in South Africa

The below guitars are made from gas cans

For the UNESCO brief, I'm looking at music as a universal language. Music is a medium that can bring together all cultures. The below video is of a traditional tribal dance, taken in South Africa.

Looking at cultural understanding, the HSBC adverts are sophisticated in the way in which their adverts show an appreciation of differences in cultures.

The below images from google image are a few of the more obvious takes on 'bringing cultures together'. I would like my concept to be less obvious.
